Iva Kontic

Lecturer of Digital Video, Doctorate in Multimedia Arts.
(b. 1982, Iugoslavia) graduated in Painting at the Academy of Brera, Milan. She has an MFA in Art Practice at Goldsmiths College, London, an MA in Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam, and she holds a Doctorate in Multimedia Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade.
Iva’s work has been shown at various international exhibitions and festivals (Fondazione Feltrinelli, Museo Reina Sofia, Museo della Permanente, TEA Tenerife, FICA Foundation, Kassel Dokfest, EMAF, etc). She was awarded the Biennale Giovani Award, the Chelsea Art Trust Award and was nominated for the Cairo Prize and the School of Happiness Award - Vienna Fair. Iva has participated in academic conferences and symposiums at institutions like Donald & Vera Blinken Open Society Archives, University of Warwick, University of Malta, Culture Development Institute, etc. Besides her art practice, Iva is a curator of Moving Image at PHROOM, an international research platform for visual culture, and has published the art book AGIT-PROP-FLASH-MOB. The Workers’ Dance into the Twilight for ProArtOrg, Belgrade.
